A long-time employee will be retiring in our client's small business offices, and this opening would be working alongside that person to prepare to fill the shoes. While the idea is to offer a full-time (8-5, Monday through Friday) position, our client is open to the possibility that an experienced candidate could suggest something with fewer hours that would get the job done and suit everyone equally well.
The job itself handles a variety of duties, similar to something an office manager might handle in a larger setting:
- making cash deposits
- preparing financial reports
- doing some purchasing
- handling payroll (using third-party service)
- overseeing basic HR functions for hiring and employee files
- managing accounts receivable
- serving as backup to front desk and order desk
