Our client is a set of governmental offices where coverage is needed through the end of the year for a particular position that is on leave. While it doesn't necessarily require someone who has worked as a high-level executive assistant handling all of that individual's responsibilities, it does need a strong administrative candidate who can commit to full-time hours and attendance at periodic evening council meetings. It's a terrific opportunity to network and/or get into the workplace in a setting where you know your skills will be valued!
The opening will be a match for a candidate who brings the experience to capably help keep these functions going:
- transcribing meeting minutes
- providing administrative support in the form of correspondence, reports, presentations, legal document prep, etc.
- managing and distributing incoming communication to the office
- greeting the public
- filing documents with attention to confidentiality
- coordinating office equipment and supply needs
- completing special projects as assigned by various department heads
An ideal background would include a bachelor's degree or a paralegal certificate/training program, since much of the work coming through the office is legal in nature. Other good skillsets would be executive assistant or office management history, showing the ability to manage multiple tasks with professionalism and great communication. The ability to read/write Spanish would be a big plus and would influence the pay rate for the assignment, but it's not required.
