Our client needs a few additional hands to process insurance authorizations for surgical procedures. This would be a match for someone with previous medical office experience who can recognize the medical terminology, coding, and systems used to process health insurance claims and benefits.
Working from 8am to 5pm in-office Monday through Friday, your work day will be primarily at the computer handling:
- the collection of documentation needed to support the services ordered for a patient
- orders for insurance coverage and the associated carrier requirements
- proper testing to support contracted guidelines
- matching provider criteria to tools used
- validation of authorizations for compliance
- maintaining standardized records
- disputes and appeals
- multiple software platform use for EMR, scheduling, filing, etc.
The right candidates for these openings will recognize and have performed these tasks in a team environment and will be as up-to-date as possible in their knowledge of insurance and processes. A working knowledge of MS Office will be necessary, along with proven communication skills and the willingness and availability for occasional overtime hours and possible occasional coverage in alternate locations within the network. In exchange, you'll be building a strong resume and placing yourself in an excellent environment for networking and possibly even being in the right place at the right time to be considered for permanent openings if that is your ultimate goal (although it's perfectly fine to simply work the assignment as the temporary assistance it originally is intended to provide).
